In this episode, Jenna McDonald and I go deep into motherhood, sex magic, sacred feminine healing, and the systemic violence of patriarchy, a raw, unfiltered conversation on trauma, spirituality, and the Mother archetype.
Jenna Devi and I hadn't spoken in many years, since the early days of her first pregnancy, and since then, she has become a trauma researcher, and mother-centered village advocate. This conversation goes to some of the deepest places we've both been.
Quick note: this episode was recorded a while back, but if anything, it feels even more relevant now.
We talk about violence, coercion and abortion we've each moved through, and how these experiences opened us both into the universal mother. There's a shared vision of a mother-centered, trauma-informed village, womb care, sex education, reciprocity, and all the goodness that has always been here, just forgotten and lost.
Jenna brings her research on maternal scholarship, matricentric feminism, and how patriarchy is literally built in relationship to the mother, down to how family courts and legal systems are structured against her. We talk honestly about why so many women can't seem to keep the money they earn, and walk through, step by step, how sex magic is practiced as a tool for manifestation, the five elements, the ritual, the release.
There's also the story of the Mother Temple in Bali and the serpent Vāsukī. We talk about the concept of the Fully Remembered Mother, and the conversation brings in the Vedic story of the thousand mothers, how every mother, in her own way, only wants what is best for her child.

Jenna McDonald (MA, E-RYT 500, PhD candidate) is a renowned educator, facilitator, and thought leader with over 20 years of experience in yoga, breathwork, and transformative leadership. Holding degrees in Native Systems of Education and Transformative Leadership, she bridges indigenous wisdom with the neurophysiology of breath as spiritual praxis, and is currently completing her PhD at CIIS focused on animate breath and co-regulation.
